Yes. That's exactly what I'm saying. I spoke to their customer service department a couple days ago and that's what I was told.

Called them again today to inquire about costs to add an additional jammer on a used ALP set with a Beltronics radar detector that's for sale and the guy I spoke with this time recommended ALP's own radar unit. I wasn't thinking about my conversation with them earlier in the week, so I didn't ask about that today.
You should skip the Beltronics - it cannot filter out ACC or BSM radar which makes it useless. Also they don't hold up that well. The units I had always had diminished performance after about a year.

Ordered the full AL Priority and Net Radar system. Very similar to your install, Stealth. Looking forward to receiving it and getting it installed.

I have the same system on CP M5, 4 heads instead. Mine are in the front grill and behind the license plate.

However, I sometimes still get tagged on those automatic, solar panel radars, and sometimes I don't.

If you were purchasing a new system, considering your disappointment with the ALP radar, what would you currently recommend?

Did you get the Net Radar?

For laser I would stick with ALP. For Radar I think it is tough. The best one is Stinger VIP but it is expensive - $2500 for just front radar and $3500 for front and rear.

Other options would be:
1) Radenso HD+, but their new CPU which has the auto-blocking feature hasn't launched and until it is, this isn't a good choice.
2) Escort CI Max 360 which is being released in March. I'm sure the radar here will be best in class, but the issue is the bundle includes front and rear jammers and I'm not sure how good those are.
3) A remote V1 setup. This could be pretty good since the V1 app (unlike the ALP app) has the auto-lockout feature for false alerts.
4) Escort Max 360 windshield unit. Great detector this one. Has a lot of things we don't have with net radar - Arrows, automatic lockouts, built in display, ability to output to a loudspeaker.

Yes, I have the entire ALP system. Frankly, I have not yet become as sophisticated a user as you are and haven't yet tried to do everything you do with yours.

I am selling the M5 and will be soon faced with what to use in the new ride.

They are illegal in most states. In Texas I spoke to several officers and was told they they are unable to tell that they are being jammed when using Jam to Kill method. They said that they get errors all the time and they hit again.

I've been caught once and that was because I jammed to gun. He was unable to get a reading after multiple hits and pulled me over and inspected my car finding my jammers. Court dismissed it but would have costed me $279

I personally have ALP with Escort 9500CI radar system. Radar system works like a charm. I've been told to go with the BelStIR system as it's most sensitive. You're able to segment bands on both

The issue with the legacy Bel and Escort system (9500ci was first released in 2008) is that they are not very good at filtering out cars with ACC or BSM. So you will get a lot of false from other cars. I have this issue with the 9500CI on our Lexus, and I also had it with the Bel STIR+ on the Jag F-Type that I sold.

However Escort claims they have solved this issue with the upcoming Escort Max CI360.

Even with the latest updates? I haven't had too many issues with mine filtering them out.

Are you saying that with your radar in highway mode, and with K band on, you very rarely hear the K band alert, and when you do hear it you see a police officer within a minute?

Yes for the most part, I alway ran in Highway mode and ran with segmented bands.

It wasn't perfect, it was rare that I had false alerts but it did happen. Mostly when it went off I knew to slow down and sure enough I'd see an officer.

Not trying to argue or discredit, it's very possible I had that band disabled

I mean your observation is at odds not only with myself but most people on the radar forum.

So, how much effectiveness do you think is sacrificied with a windshield unit vs a built in system?

I will now forget about any idea of getting one, as getting prosecuted for perverting the course of justice is v serious :-

But I didn't think a 635D went fast enough to warrant getting caught
