CEL - Code 102001
I just picked up my M5 yesterday and drove about 600-650 since picking it up. I had the CEL come on today with code 102001 Air Mass plausibility: air mass too high. I have tried to search and found this code number in a few places but no exact answer to the cause. Looking for someone to provide input.
The car currently idles and drives fine. |

I removed them and wiped them off as they had a little oil residue on them but didn't use any type of spray, I see they are a "housing" and cant really get inside them unless I just don't know how.
Do you try to get in them or do you blow air or use cleaning spray into them? I actually did this yesterday before making this post, I went for a drive for about 2-3 miles and was fine, later that day left again and it came on again. Thanks |

Use this stuff. Don't try to open them or stick anything in there. The sensor wires are small and delicate. If you break it you'll have to replace the whole mass air meter.

Bumping this thread.
I'm having this exact issue on my 2013, just crossed 40k miles. Was tuned, back on a stock map and the CEL comes up after multiple resets. I've taken the sensors out and cleaned them and still having the issue. Anyone here successfully resolve this issue? |
