Coding without Esys!....and much easier!
So....for all that are unsure about using the "Esys" program for coding, or it doesn't work anymore....
there is a solution. It's called Bimmercode, and is an app for your Android or iPhone. It's possibly the easiest coding you'll ever perform! I made a quick video to demonstrate. Enjoy! |

Great video as usual, thanks! I'm going to get it to make some minor changes in my coding.

I remember how intimidating it was using Esys, then when I hooked up the laptop the sweat would begin in hopes that I did everything correct. Only thing Esys is better about is keeping a backup on all modules. You can save them and work offline. I wish I would have seen Bimmercode much sooner...it's soo easy to use. |

ordered mine yesterday arrived this morning. Time for some fun. Like you I have e-sys but looking at the videos online its just too much of a faff to use for simple stuff. I think it will be very handy but they for price and ease of use Bimmercode makes sense.

coded a few things this morning. Very easy but still scary at times. Coded comfort access and car stopped (car running to keep battery up) diff locked warning popped up, reduced speed. I hate coding lol. Everything ok again
Cant do anything with HUD (turn signal etc). would have to go into expert mode I guess. removed delay for comfort access (folding mirrors) but still needs a long push for them to close. Will look again later.

doesn't half eat battery life. 1st attempt said error not stable enough to perform coding. Wonder if it was my phone battery I was at 25%. 2nd time it worked ok, although blinkers do not work in hud

I guess a bit of info for folks new to coding, depending on what you are coding they system may restart and throw errors. bit scary first time you encounter this but as long as your phone and car battery have plenty power you should be fine.
changing my comfort access my car stopped and threw codes relating to rear diff and some others. All ok once I started the car again any changes relating to head unit it will shutdown and then restart changes to HUD throws codes again relating to system fault but again fixes as soon as key off then on again. I only code 1 thing at a time. I think its just safer and if something goes wrong at least you will know what caused it.
