The car is different and like anything new and different there's a learning curve you need to get past before that screen becomes as second nature as a window switch. A manual transmission is a scary thought for people who've never used one. This is exactly the same.

I was lost when you had to pay for your own charging, which pushes you back into a Model S. I like the range on the Model 3, but when someone says they no longer need those 300 welds.....makes you wonder how many corners were cut to achieve their 5000 per week quota. They aren't building iPhones.

E90s with the N52/N51 don't have the oil temp gauge, just the E92s. Pretty stupid IMO to make the cluster different and also not even have a coolant temp gauge. Instead I get to watch an inaccurate fuel economy "gauge" swing back and forth like an old grandfather clock while I'm in traffic.

Granted- Free Supercharger charging is free charging, but I can't imagine owning an EV without the vast majority of charging being done at home. For this reason the free public charging seems to me to have limited value.

We have people charging their cars at work instead of home.

First, what happens when you change jobs? Now I have to find a job I like, that compensates me well... and also have convenient Supercharger nearby? Good luck with that. Also, in my case that 300 yard walk could really suck if it's super cold, hot, or stormy. Otherwise my car is about 5 yards away from my desk. For my personal situation there was no comparison. Also, when I don't go to the office I can't refuel my car? I have to make a special trip to a Supercharger and find something to do for the hour-plus it takes to refuel? That is what I'd call an unattractive burden especially when I can refuel my ICE in <10 minutes without even having get out of my car (NJ is full service only). IMO an EV is difficult to justify unless it's an extra vehicle that you can charge at home... AND you have solar panels that make charging a very low cost affair. Otherwise it's a purchase of passion and not logic.

I am convinced they will figure out the refueling part, but they are not there yet for my particular use cases. |

I LOVED my 335i. Was my favorite car that I’ve owned the past 23 yrs and was worried I’d miss my 6spd. I sold it and just took delivery of my performance model 3. I wasn’t a fan of the screen when it was first revealed and didn’t care much for the model 3. But when the Performance version was announced it caught my attention as I was looking to replace my 335i with something faster and AWD. The performance model 3 just started coming out but has already shown to hold its own not only in the 1/4 but on the road course and auto-x. Will eventually do an depth comparison after getting more seat time. But for now here’s a crappy pic after taking delivery.

It's amazing how awful the Tesla Model 3 looks compared to a 20+ year old BMW.

No, it doesnt. also that interior is sooo cheap looking, cant wait for the hype to die and Tesla to fold up.

yeah agree completely. The interior in mine is not even as nice as what you get in a malibu with luxury pack. there are squeaks in the plastic pieces on the steering wheel when you press down, in a 55K car
but despite that i still won't go back to ICE, the entire driving experience is different and i like how it drives a lot. now if only BMW can release a proper 300mile EV, i'll come back in a heartbeat |
