Erratic gauge needles after new dials installation

Hi all, newbie here with a 2012 F10 M5.
After I replaced the dials, and followed what I learned on YouTube to calibrate the needles (I didn’t disconnect the battery when disconnecting/reconnecting the cluster), all 4 needles worked perfectly for 2 days and then the 2 needles on the speedometer and techometer started to show problems.
1) needle of the S/M has gone dead, while the needle of the T/M deviated by 1K rpm vs. digital head-up display
2) they came back to life the following day. T/M works perfectly since but the S/M has gone from perfect, to deviate from head-up display by 10km/hr, and gone back to perfect all within one continuous trip, without ignition off.
3) Today, the T/M continues to work but the needle of the S/M works in the beginning but suddenly stayed at a certain point (say 90km/hr) and never moved during the trip. Ignition off then the needle started to fall but not to zero. Then when I started the car again it worked fine.

Needles on fuel and oil temperature gauge have no problems at all.

Asked a workshop to perform a scan and there’s no fault code detected. No ABS warning light so ruling out speed sensor issues for now.

Wondering if anyone has any idea or have similar experience?

Thank you

I'd say disconnect battery for 10 minutes and try again, you have nothing to lose but I can't say if it will correct the speedo.

You put too much pressure on the dial bars, take them out and put them back on. You can put paper under the sticks when installing
