What’s the best way to get CarPlay on my 2013 m5?

My choice has been to add aftermarket head unit because I wanted a bigger screen in addition to CarPlay. I have installed 3 units on F10 5 series and they have all performed well. My purchases from been from 4x4shop (not affiliated or receiving compensation).

If you are concerned about installation, there are many videos online and I would consider the overall process as relatively easy.

There's various units on Aliexpress. I used one on a previous car, a Discovery 4, and it worked really well. There's also touchscreen units for the F10.

I'll definitely fit one in the future. I only got my F10 less than a month ago and I have some other issues to sort out that are more urgent. Like the fact that my wife is upset I bought a stupid car that immediately broke down, and is leveraging that to get me to buy her a new car as well 🤣
