Today the contractors FINALLY started the mini pebble with glass (..Laguna Blue mini pebble with Deep Azul glass pebble). Tomorrow the surface will be acid washed and we can begin filling it with water. Yay!

Additionally, we had to choose a different tile for the water/fire feature due to the prior tile having a glazing defect we didn’t catch until after the tile was already placed (..see photo; there are shaded areas that become visible under certain lighting conditions). The tile we had to choose as a backup is more subtle, but it has a Venetian texture to it. In direct light I think it looks really cool.

Going to sound povo, but we are not getting any new appliances as the old ones are still working. Oh maybe a new gloss top hot plate as our old one was second hand and scratched up. That will most likely be Westinghouse as its the last Australian manufacture of appliances. Probably all from China anyway haha.

Got no problem if people like a fridge that has AI food tracking, 10 different cool zones, wi-fi, touch screen, makes ice cubes, cold water on tap, doors that become translucent so you don't have to open them, choice of interior light colors or brightness, the width of a car, or wants to be your best mate. I just need something to keep a jug of water, bottle of wine, last night left overs, and a few things cold.

Oh hang on, one that locks itself between 7pm and 6am would be helpful.

Haha! Not gonna lie, I do wish my fridge was a bit wider. You can never have too much space (…I have the Jenn-Air contract grade suite of appliances).

….and we have water! Yesssss!

The contractors still have SO MUCH left to complete, clean - and repair - on this project, but there’s light at the end of the tunnel now.

I have an appraisal scheduled for tomorrow as part of the refinance process; my interest rate is changing from 7.12% to 5.9% and subsequently dropping the mortgage $750 a month.

The appraiser relayed to me water needed to be in the pool at the time of appraisal for the value to be factored into the appraisal. Phew!!!!

Ohhh nice looking good. First swim is so 'aren't we clever".

Got a bone to pick with you now though. Upon viewing your commitment to tasteful design and comments made, I was measuring up the fridge cavity for next generation when the time comes. The wife gets hold of it and the simple wife simple life wants to upgrade the fridge now. I gave her a flat NO as she has done to me on the floor, kitchen layout and and several other design elements. Funny how I spend hours thinking, measuring, checking, researching and when the good wife swans in from where she has been fluttering she listens attentively, then casually gives me a hmmmm NO. WTF do you mean NO.....gee we laugh.

Anyway I'm liking the twin over thing, I can see a place and need in our modest kitchen. Are they both ovens or one a warmer.

Haha! We are here to be [bad] influences on one another.

They are both full service ovens, and while they were just stylish elements to me, my lady really does utilize them often.

Nice! Congrats. Home is our Castle! I enjoy the uniqueness we put into it.
We're actually in the process of looking at our next home and probably final as we enter retirement age... I have an extensive checklist. ✅

This one will be the final for me. Although I am only in my mid-40’s, the move out of California and into Nevada was my “retirement move”, so I do not plan on relocating again. We have moved twice since the summer of 2023; first my move from CA to NV into a rental while she sold her previous Nevada house (…and later moving her belongings from her sold home into the rental), then from the rental to the home we purchased early 2024. It was just a lot of instability initially, and while that was caused due to trying to find the right home, we just couldn’t get too comfortable in the rental knowing we were going to move again. I’m so glad that period came and went.

Well thanks to you the kitchen rono has blown out. Upon reflection however, a bit of a push was what was needed to crawl out from under my rock to see where the world has progressed too. We now have an above and below oven too. A sizable vertical twin door fringe that serves water and ice, and a dishwasher that to be honest uses about as much water as I probably do to do the dishes. New range hood that talks to the new and larger induction top so I don't have to do anything but pretend to cook.

All purchased with extended warranty perhaps for the price of just one piece of other brands, but I do like appliances that don't take me 15 minutes to work out how to turn them on. Cause who reads the manual.

Well I'm in strife now, my spray booth got converted to entry and bedroom yesterday. My hired help has come out of the gate like a greyhound, so who am I to stop him from running. Maybe the dirty ol diesel won't get those extra laps of clear after all.
