The cashed up Chinese might just expect more and if a brand emerges from Chinese car manufacturing that captures just the Chinese market, it will surpass the worlds demand on any car.

Elkann is not American. He is American-born. Most, if not all of his life has been spent in Europe.

Regardless, if the Testarossa's looks are controversial, the performance isn't. Ferrari's chassis and powertrain engineers are still elite.

The Testarossa of the 80’s was not the most beautiful Ferrari either, but that’s not an excuse to intentionally make this one ugly.
??????? How is this not beautiful.

As a ferrari luver, proud tifosi, and cavallino rampante owner, i surely can admin that most Ferraris are ugly since they fired Pinnanfina.
As is this sf90 disaster in disguise. Shame they think they had to use an historic name to try to trick a neuvo riche clueless new target owner class with this garbage.

So it's faster around a course than a ZR1?

I like the tow-ring sticking out, as if there isn't enough front-overhang already.

And that's the issue with it IMO, that overhang and most the the styling is just extreme, not in a good way. The BB512 was basically the same car, w/o all the '80s excessiveness that served no actual purpose. It's not horrible IMO, but it's also not "good" at the same time and was taking a step away from preserving the chassis/performance aspects mentioned in the other post.

Kind of misinformation. Chinese economy isn't really increasing middle class much these days and hasn't for a few years now. Their housing market collapse has never allowed the country to recover and young people can't find jobs with or without a degree. Times aren't exactly great for the average Chinese person middle class or not. Xi has pushed more consumerism on the people to help expand the economy but it never has taken off for cultural and financial reasons.

The tow ring is installed for its
Intended use its not for design or to be used in real life. This is not my car I do not have a testarossa, my mechanic is restoring it.
Of course its extreme, the 80s were an extreme design period in all aspects of life and excessive was our culture in that decade!!
The 512 is beautiful, my friend has a 512BBi since new and its a classic ferrari design from the late 60s to the 70s so they are not really comparable and can both be appreciated.
The testarossa is a classic, its a piece of art in automobile history. Now you may not like its design elements but objectly is absolutely beautiful from every angle and is a museum piece for sure.
And even if you dont luv the front overhang, how can you not see the side and 3/4profiles and not fall in luv

And lets be honest, its most important design view is the rear end like most ferraris which is unquestionably amazing, and just like when im out on the road, its likely the only angle most peps will get to see as I drive away quickly

The original Testarossa/512 beautiful, timeless, and clean. I don't understand WTF is up with Ferrari, BMW, and even Porsche these days.

I dont know whats up with BMWs design philosphy, as for whats goin on in Maranello I think its ego and hubris. Thats all. Pininfarina is right there as always and could come right back and clean up this modern mess of design failures (outside of the iconas) quickly if asked. Rediculous.
