Blackstone Oil Analysis

Got my first test for my 2016 M5 back today.
Stage 2 Tuned by BPMSport
7151 miles on the car
1734 on this oil
Oil is whatever Fields BMW put in the car which I was told was 0W40. When I asked they couldn’t confirm for sure. Let me know what you guys think -

Let’s keep this going.. add your Blackstone results up here too

My last two reports. Second and any subsequent report will be exclusively Valvoline Restore and Protect 5w30 as it has been proven in labs and by others on Bobistheoilguy to clean deposits and varnish. 143k miles now and valve stem seals cause about 750/mi per quart of oil. Which is technically within BMW spec. Will probably tackle that job in the spring/summer of 2026.

I've got a third report in the mail coming up which should be around 5500 miles of oil prior to my rod bearing job.

On a side note, why such low interval for your M5?

Just really low mileage on the car.. changed more for piece of mind rather than necessity.

Id be very curious to have you try running exclusively in sport+ throttle once warmed up and see if this impacts the oil consumption. It seems to have on mine.

I changed the coolant target in my tune to target 85C/185F (stock: 100C/212F) already to try and help out the valve stem seals. Gives me some peace of mind knowing that everything is running much cooler. Though no apparent changes in oil consumption

Just got my 2nd report back. This was on Motul Xcess Gen2 5w40. I did run a race fuel mix a couple of times but never full 110 octane.

I have now switched to Motul Power 5W50..

Let me know what you guys see/think
