Wrapping the headers - any point ?

I mean, really really. Is there really any real benefit in real normal real driving ? Demonstrable difference ? People seem to get real excited about this kind of thing. My car's not going on track any time. I wouldn't even consider it normally but I'm on the verge of pulling the engine out to do valve seals this is a potential "while I'm there" job.

Or ceramic coating. The less heat escaping, the better, track or not.

The only coating that is worth it, IMO, is Swaintech. That said, there's a risk of overheating the cats if you coat those, and if you don't, you're leaving by far the largest radiant heat source uncoated. Another option is to apply something like Mishimoto's aluminum silica heat barrier in relevant places, which will be easy with the engine out.

Personally, I'd go for the latter on a street car and either run in sport+ throttle or put in a lower temp t-stat.

BM3 stage 2 93 tune has an enhanced cooling option-drops thermostat -10C it says. It dropped my oil temp significantly. I'm in Florida so it's usually warm. The line between 160 and 250 is roughly 205 degrees, before when fully warm was a tick over that line. Now it stays below that line all the time.Plus I only use sport+, I crank the car and hit M2 twice(have to confirm as DSC is off).

I think you guys might be significantly more wealthy than I am 🤣 Wrapping I can do myself for a modest cost. I'm not getting any kind of coating done.

Don’t wrap the downpipes if you have a titanium exhaust such as M-Performance or Akrapovic.

I’ve heard that the heat can crack the exhaust.

Well, that's weak in my opinion.

Agreed, I would’ve wrapped mine to keep the heat out of the engine bay. After reading that, I chose not to. Better safe than cracking a $10k+ exhaust
