I think he is guesstimating, he doesn't know for sure. Another dealer told me the actual rates should be out the first of June. I'd rather have a worst case scenario and be pleasantly surprised if it's better. Hope for the best, expect the worst.. right?

While I have no hard evidence of where BMW FS will come out, I can pass along that all of the people I've spoken to (3 different CAs at 3 different dealerships plus the sales manager at one of the dealerships) are estimating much lower. The consensus seems to be 56% for 12,000 and 57% for 10,000. Just to be complete, the consensus on the money factor is .0019 to .0020.
If you are estimating your payment based on the range you provided, I would recalc at the lower levels. Better to estimate higher payments and be surprised on the upside. |

Those are the exact numbers that I have been advised to expect and have been using in my calcs.
I have also been forewarned not to be too surprised if they come back with a MF of .003 for a highly allocated and new vehicle such as this. |

UPDATE: Just spoke with my CA. He told me although nothing is confirmed or published to the dealers that both he and the GSM don't think the residual and MF will be worse than any other M Car today. The lowest residual they have is 53% for 15k miles and a MF of .00190. I mentioned to him about the potential for BMW to inflate the MF and his response was that BMW and BMW FS are in the market to sell cars. Although there may be a high demand for the M5, the orders which have been placed, also are not IP yet and therefore buyers can back out of the deal and BMW would risk losing a significant amount of orders should they try to inflate the financials. This is my first time doing ED and ordering a car that doesn't have lease rates out yet. When I signed my paperwork and put my deposit down on the car, June 5 2012, I was approved for the lease through BMW FS. When the money factor is released will BMW FS have to do another credit check on me to reapprrove me for the lease? Or once I was approved on 6/5 it's a done process? I am concerned about another inquiry in a short period of time on my credit.

I would assume that there will be no sales support on the MF for this car. I am planning on my regional rate, .0023, + .0003 for the ED since all ED lease MF's are increased by .0003.

Also, BMW FS is not approving you on such a thin margin that the difference in your payment because of the MF and residual would swing you one way versus the other. They have a reasonable margin for error (in their favor) in the approval process. |

Are you guys working with Ryan at Steve Thomas BMW? Seems that you are not getting honest answers. He is the go to guy for West Coasters getting M3s...

Just announced. See the new thread. Be warned, BMW FS tanked the residuals.
http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=711879 Unfortunately no where near that. 50% residual for 12k/year, 3 year lease. See the other thread I referenced.
