I just built my own M5 on the US website and "active seats" is listed in the Executive Pack. Is this new and the same as the E60 M5 seats or just fancy talk for some other thing?

Edit: just saw that it's still the 2013 non LCI, so I'm guessing no "real" active seats?..

Active seats are just an ass massager for long trips, 2013 has them.

Wheels remind me of LCI E63 AMG wheels. Too plain.

I don't understand why the M6 interior is posted in here? I can guarantee that many have come here thinking that's the new M5 interior.

And please don't say it's posted because of the steering wheel..posting a picture of just the steering wheel would be a better idea.

Do you guys think it'll be easy to retrofit the LED headlights. I think fitting them will be easy, but how about the wiring. Will we likely need new wiring harnesses and reprogram?

I also wonder if the non-LED headlights are getting a redesign.

If there's a retrofit kit for the LED lights (like the X5) it will likely be in the 5k range
The kit would include all required adapters/cables/mounting hw etc

I did not read it anywhere so am assuming (or is it confirmed) that a manual transmission 2014 M5 will not be available even for the U.S. market?

Manual transmission is still available.

See the 2014 M5 pricing/ordering guide: http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=842790

It's still a no-charge option.

Yes, at least with the exec package. My side bolsters on my 2014 M5 are adjustable (how much the seats "hug" you).

Here's a list of all the other more minor updates:

322 Comfort access keyless entry
Now includes smart-closing functionality in addition to smart-opening. This allows you to conveniently close the trunk using a kicking motion below the rear bumper. This is particularly useful when carrying large objects or when you have your hands full.

456 Multi-contour seats
Now include electrically adjustable side bolsters

4UR Ambient lighting
Now includes customizable lighting color choice of "Classic" Orange or "Modern" LED White

609 Navigation system (standard)
Includes iDrive controller with touchpad

610 Head-Up Display
Now displays radio stations, music lists, telephone lists
Lane Departure Warning activation lines no longer shown

6FH Rear-seat entertainment Professional
New and more modern free-standing monitor design

Leatherette upholstery has been re-named to BMW SensaTec (standard on 528i models):
K8DF Venetian Beige SensaTec upholstery
K8SW Black SensaTec upholstery

March Build Updates

Hey there...ordered my M5 yesterday. Dealer tells me it will be a March build, and there will be a few "very" minor updates for the M5, including an updated Nav/IDrive processor that will improve the speed and response of the touch pad and overall system? Anyone hear about this? Nonsense?

Looking forward to participating in this forum!!!!

Driver Assist Pack (convinced this is a waste)

That would be news to me. I haven't noticed any lag with the Nav/iDrive, but I guess faster is always better. Congrats on the new ride!

Thanks guys!!! So I found below on the homepage... I am thinking he read this.. It's not specific at all and does not say this will be part of March Production for the 5 series. Who knows. PS. I am coming out of a F10 550, and I hear my new car is going to be an animal. Can't wait.

High-speed graphics, additional functions:

The new generation of the navigation system Business and the radio Professional.

With enhanced functions and optimised performance, the latest generation of the radio Professional and the navigation system Business is raising comfort and driving pleasure to an even higher level. Both newly revised options will be introduced in the spring of 2014. During the course of 2014, they will also be introduced to the BMW 1 Series, the BMW 2 Series and the BMW 5 Series and will then be available for all models except for the BMW X6. Both systems have a new control unit with boosted computing performance. Thus, for example, Bluetooth audio streaming will be available in the vehicle with the integration of mobile devices as well as additional BMW ConnectedDrive services.

The most significant innovation to the navigation system Business are the graphic images which now generate 10 times faster than before on the 16.5-inch control display. High-resolution maps, which now have 3D elements and animations, and an increased speed when calculating routes characterise the advancement made possible by the optimisation of the control unit technology.

In conjunction with the ConnectedDrive Services option, the navigation system Business can be used in future for the Concierge Services, Real Time Traffic Information and Remote Services. In order to establish the necessary online connections in an optimum manner, the new system uses the 3G standard for mobile telephone networks.
