Sooner Than Expected F8x (M3)

Called in to see my dealer/CA today while taking my wife's 2013 328i xDrive in for its regular service.

I have an SO/SO M4 on order but the production date keeps getting pushed out due to "carbon fiber" issues. I ordered it in mid-November and my CA said they don't even know if it will even be produced in February - all this when they even had an "immediate" allocation.

While in there, I took the liberty of looking around since this is a brand new (open <30 days) dealership and they have some new models in from when I ordered the M4 at their old location. They had a MGM/SO M3 with the important elements I was looking for in the M4 (DCT, 19" Black wheels, Executive + Drivers + Lighting pkgs). In addition, this one came with Adaptive M Suspension, HK Sound, and Enhanced Bluetooth.

I loved the MGM with the black wheels and really liked the "muscularity" of the back of the M3 compared to an M4 they had next to it.

So I bought it!! Picking it up in less than 2 hrs

Pictures to follow when the weather improves here!!

Off to decode the changes made to my 2012 F30 335i before I have to give it back!

Thanks. Gotta say I am pretty excited. Wasn't a planned purchase today by no means, but just loved the car when I saw it and given the uncertainty over my original M4 build, I just decided to pull the trigger.

This forum has been great to learn about these vehicles!! For the most part ...

Congrats. Just out of curiosity does the one you bought have a sunroof? Sorry if you mentioned it but I couldn't find whether you specified. Reason I ask is dealers seem to be overflowing with sunroof cars right now, presumably because of this CF shortage issue. My CF roof M3 was a BMW of Bakersfield yesterday where they have like 10 F80/82's with sunroofs. The CF on the lighter color cars really sets it apart, especially since it's shaped like the M6 roof.

No, no sunroof. Carbon Fiber. They do have an Alpine White M4 with a sunroof though and a black M4 that I am not sure what roof it has.

Very nice. MG was my first choice, but I switched to SS. Still love MG.

I sat in that car on two different occasions from drives up from Columbus. It had 8k in options over what I wanted though. It however is what made me settle on MG/SO for color.

The GM, Frank Stefan, was a good guy to speak with. Hopefully you got to chat with him.
