E63s takes the cake over m5/6

Nope not in the least , most importantly it's no were near as fun to drive as an M6 and it's not even close in the looks department .

I eat the E63s for breakfast. I have more power. And that E63S is fugly.

With tuning and just downpipes and exhaust

interesting thread... I own neither currently (m or amg) but have had my fair share (8 AMG's and 6 M's)... my thoughts stock vs stock:

Dig race: E63S wins due to AWD with the M's catching up closer to triple digits
Rollers: The M's pull with the better transmission
Looks (highly subjective): The E63S needs work with wheels and drop just to get to the oem look of the M's with their better stance and 20 inch wheel oem setup
Handling: I always liked the way my M's handled over the slushier rear Airmatic setup on the E or even the ABC setups on my higherline Benz AMG's
Steering: I havent had the most recent AMG steering update but I hear its brilliant. No comment here because of that
Transmission: No brainer, the DCT wins
Exhaust: No brainer for me here, the AMG's have a great oem note
Interior: (highly subjective) but I slightly lean towards the BMW with screen view of the NAV but again the E63S has made recent changes here.
Modability: The M157 engine of the E63S is clearly untapped and the tranny can handle gobs of tq... E63 wins

The other day I was driving and saw both an E63S and an M5 with minutes of each other. The M5 caught my eye just a bit more with its aggressive stance and meatier body. They both are great cars IMHO but I like the M better. The M6 looks alot better.

My resume based on these thoughts (I wont dive way back into my car lines):

2013 M6
2013 M5
2013 SL63 (M157 engine and MCT tranny)
2012 CLS63 TT (M157 engine and MCT tranny)
2012 E63 Estate (M157 engine and MCT tranny)

I have not owned an E63S but have driven it; very fuckin fast from a dig. Maybe I need to drive it again

I would have had an e63s over the m5 if it had two things that I needed/wanted. 1st thing the 4matic (not avaliable here) and 2nd a gearbox that is remotely quick shifting.

Yeah agree on that. I have a better relationship with my BMW dealer so that sways things for me as well

Bmw has one of the most lack of up to date interiors imo the amgs much nicer interior hands down and yes I'm a true bmw m owner and enthusiastic bmw guy but just think the e63 and all Amg line ups are killing bmw as a brand in whole.

Think about how many more chassi codes bmw doesn't have over the Mercedes
Bmw has no super car to compete with the sls or gt
Nothing for the cl65 nothing for any of the black series cars at all and the list goes on

Truthfully, I was torn between the E63S and M5, but found the M5 more appealing in almost everyway. Tuning capabilities was not on my short list. The MB has some great qualities. But, sorry the interior isn't one of them. The styling is old, including the exterior. The engine is great. The tranny isn't nearly as good as DCT and the steering is ok. Bringing the SLS, GT and CL65 into the mix is irrelevant.

It all depends on what you like, need or want. The M5 provides me with supreme passing, and is a 4 door roll run king from 70-14X MPH. I want, need, and really like that. I won't ever forget these roll run WOT blasts.

Also for super cars yes pleanty of better ways to spend 150-250 on a car other then sls or any 65 Amg I agree there just saying bmw doesn't even give us a option to buy anything other then m5-m6 as the top of the line or a Alpina b7

Yes the dct is bad ass but doesn't hold the power it should,same shit with the gtrs bad ass car but need a 15,000 trans to hold real power 800+

The E - class looks spongy and outdated. Your opinion is your opinion. Besides the new GT shape which is spectacular I have no interest in Mercedes.
BMWs are for driving IMO.

BMW M5 should go to an all wheel drive option and crank the HP up to 625 for next model so I think I will wait for that.
