From F10 M5 to F10 528i Xdrive? Yup and I love it...

Being an M guy for the last 15 years, I thought the 528 would be horrible, but I have to say it's the best daily driver I've ever owned! The M5 was great but with all the power it was just too heavy to be the fun weekend car I wanted it to be. With the 20 inch wheels and my nervous nature I simply couldn't daily it. Also, the Viper does a better job of being that thrilling, mostly weekends only ride.

Back to the 528. It feels smaller than the M5 did, and way more user friendly with small 17" wheels, super quiet 4 banger and comfy interior.
I only have 150 miles on it, and between the gas mileage and great cruising behavior, it's a win for getting to work in peace. I leased this thing for nearly nothing, and don't regret it one bit. I must be getting old!!

My wife has been driving the Rubicon, and I really don't miss it too much! However, I'm sure once snow falls I will.

Yeah I had a 528i loaner a few times, never liked them. The two things that bothered me about the base BMW is the dead steering feel and the base audio system. I would have been more inclined to lease a 535d instead and get some real mpg's out of it, then again it does have a higher MSRP than a 528i. I am now a big fan of the new Mercedes C-Class though and I'm starting to see new C300's everywhere. I'd rather have that than a 528i, the lease is probably cheaper on the C300 too. Oh yeah and I saw the new C63 AMG-S for the first time last weekend, I loved it, and the exhaust note is 10,000 times better than the M3's.

I'm not looking to feel the road. It's a perfect mindless commuter car. I feel the road plenty in my lowered Viper. This is total comfort. I got this car so cheap its 328i money...

Yeah I hear ya, I gotta admit though that I do miss having normal soft suspension and more sidewall on the tires for daily commuting. Damn city streets are just horrible. I've considered getting an i3 to compliment the M5 in the future, but I also have the desire to get something more exotic to park next to the M5. I keep forgetting you have the Viper too. Lol!

Well it's really my wife's car but she is not looking to bring it to work yet for political reasons. If it were me, I'd be banging off potholes in a F80 M3 lowered, spacered and JBed on catless tubesAlways ready to run!!

But being in the 528, the knot in my belly loosens up and I just chill.. I feel sorta like Ron Livingston in this scene lol

Definitely something to be said about having a mindless daily driver.

I'd probably get an x5, or a 535i, as the 4 banger is just too small for me, but I hear where you are coming from. Definitely something to be said about not having to worry about bending or curbing rims.

As long as you have the viper, you'll satisfy your need for speed.
