LED headlights Anti-dazzle high-beam assistant fucntion
Hi friends of the forum please check this video :
I have LED light and they don't work like in the video. They have exactly the same function as in my previous E92. When ON if a car comes in the other direction they switch to normal beams and when the car passes they return to high beam function. The same if a car is in front, they switch, I pass the car they switch again. No fancy stuff like the video. My car is European spec so it should work ab initio but it doesn't. Any reason why? Does anyone has this issue ?! Thanks for the help Paulo Last edited by tekaefixe; 10-01-2015 at 03:14 AM.. |

@v12 can code this. He did mine about a year ago. It works great. I always have the auto highs on now, no need to switch back and forth. The light does a great job at moving around to give you the best light for the situation.

Hey everybody,
My bad. There was a setting that must be UNCHECKED. With the car turned on but with engine OFF, Main Menu, Settings, Lights, Headlights and if the engine is OFF the there will be a disclaimer saying that if the traffic is in the other sense, opposite from you (like in UK) you must check this the box so its deactivates the fancy stuff. Uncheck it and the power of light is yours eheh. Thank you all! |

However, antidazzle function is not approved in the US because it has yet to be tested by the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration). Doesn't matter that it has been successfully used in Europe; BMW cannot activate it on cars sold in the US. Even if it is possible to be "coded", it is my understanding that you must have the adaptive LED headlight option for this feature to work. I ordered my 2015 X5 with adaptive LED lights on the chance that the NHTSA approve antidazzle in the future. Adaptive LED lights do have some functions approved in the US: as you turn a corner, the headlights follow the turn and brake lights are brighter than usual when breaking hard.
