Buying Used Car Advise

Hi guys,

Okay so I came across from what I believe is a good deal but would like some input for what others think. I'm thinking of buying a new (to me) toy for the weekend. I found an 03 SL500 with 18,000 original miles and it is in flawless condition ! An older gentleman is selling it who was the original owner. Now he's the twist he wants to sell me an 01 C240 in the same deal that has 80,000 miles. Again he is the original owner of this car as it was his wife's and she doesn't drive anymore. (Also in flawless condition) both cars are black on black. He wants to sell both to me for 27K. Is this a good deal? Should I buy these cars as I don't really need the C240 but would just use it as a DD. Let me know your thoughts !

NFI re. a deal as the prices are low in the USA but i know two people with 01 to 04 C class Merc's and they are shit boxes. Rusty is a real issue as is the tranny and you have the smaller of the two V6's.

The sl500 goes from 20k up to 40k(asking price on autotrader).
The c240 from 5k up to 12k
You could always sell the c240. It looks like a good deal but not great.
Of course if you got him down to 25k that would be better.
I don't know much about the cars to give my input on that. Good luck!!

That SL500 might have low miles, but the gremlins come with age also... don't go into it thinking your getting the same thing as like a 2013 car with 18,000 miles...
