Squeaking Brakes and STILL No Solution??
Many threads on this although I tend to think this is one extremely odd coincidence:
Minutes upon picking up car from dealer for REAR brake pad change, from the moment I drove off that exact day, my FRONT brakes have been squeaking. Daily. Each and every single stop. Although I hear this is common generally with performance brakes....I will not accept that. Absolutely not, not on an m car especially of this generation. Maserati would have been my choice had I wanted a squeaker car. This car had never made a single sound from the brakes. Not once in 20,000 miles. Upon receiving new brake pads a little while ago, they've been squeaking now for thousands of miles. The sound of the brakes are now covering up the sound of exhaust which is lovely I've tried everything- 70-0 stops, 100-0 stops, doesn't even temporarily solve the problem. Service says is due to my brake rotors, isn't covered under warranty, and is caused by pushing the car to the extremes of which I will say with sad truth that I pushed my e92 m3 so so much harder than this F and that car was the absolute most solid machine BMW has built. M3 hadn't had brake squeaking a single instance. So now I'm looking at an rotor replacement before my warranty is even over because of legitimately driving the car, not to mention 11,000 miles were highway miles lol! If it matters, I have 10mm spacers only on the rear |

So you got the rear pads changed and then the fronts starting squeaking all of a sudden? That's weird. I'm thinking they changed the fronts without telling you or something.
I driven my car for almost 50,000 miles on the original set of front rotors and pads with no squeaking and then when they put new ones on I got the dreaded squeak for a while. Have been driving on the new set for almost 10,000 miles and the squeak is completely gone. I don't know what else to tell you. :/

There is a service bulletin for this issue. Read through the posts. The SIB number is in the first post:

Every performance car I've had has had this issue but it was only intermittent and not always. My M5 has had it happen a few times but not enough to annoy me. I've had three brake and rotor changes under warranty due to warped rotors.
If it's intermittent I would agree it's normal but all the time then I would have an issue. It's embarrassing. iamvietness did you get yours repaired with that SIB I sent you a while back?

I've seen many of you with stock brakes fix this squeak matter.
But so sad that no one has any info about MCCB squeaks. it's unreal (city bus brake squeak level) i know that SIB is for M5/M6 stock brakes. Does anyone think BMW will service MCCB under SIB 34 06 14 ? |

None of the fixes work. I've had my pads changed 3 times. I think it's the rotors.

No it's not rotor by itself. My brakes are squeaking like a champ and I had my rotors replaced just couple weeks ago

Got the same problem with mine in the UK. With all the gridlock traffic there is a lot of squealing. They did do something at the 1200 mile service, rebuilt and oil according to a BMW instruction, but its back now at 1600.
Also got a driver door speaker (tweeter) that vibrates on talk radio at low volumes. Embarrasing problems for a car like this. Will take the advice from above and push the rotor side. thanks guys |

Hey, it's good to hear that I'm not crazy as the only guy with the vibrating tweeter on talk radio in a BRAND NEW $120k M5 lol. It is beyond annoying, especially when trying to listen to live sports. Let me know if you plan on taking it into the dealer for this. So far I have decided to just live with it since I don't listen to talk/sports radio all the time. I don't hear it when I play music. |

I had the same issue for the longest time (2013 so not part of the tsb). The dealer was able to resolve it by doing the items here:
http://www.brakeandfrontend.com/brak...-squeal-habit/ Cleaned everything up and chamfered the edges. Now it's totally silent. |

I have the same annoying brake squeal also. Taken it to the dealer 3 times for this. Twice they changed rotors and pads and the last time they couldn't get it to squeak but of course as soon as I get 15 minutes from the dealer there it goes again.
Going to the dealer in 2-3 weeks for oil change and will demand a fix and see what they say. Verry annoying and embarrassing on a car like this. Ive even had pedestrians say stuff to me when I had the windows down approaching a stop sign very slowly. Talk about wanting to hide lol

I'm not trying to back up BMW, but part of this issue is not an issue at all. It's the nature of high performance brakes for a heavy high performance car... Just watch this video at 4:44 to see how much heat is generated and must be dissipated by this brakes system mainly rotors....and please don't say othe sport cars (like R8, 911, Lambo, Ferrari)do not have this issue...They have the same issue but a little less because they are a lot lighter...

Anecdotal evidence suggests to me that people with a heavy foot tend not to suffer from this problem. I tend to brake early and lightly during street driving. I like to give cars behind plenty of reaction time. It seems that contributes to brake squeal, but I could be wrong...

Sorry you have to deal with this. If it's any consolation, my Maserati doesn't squeak one bit
