x6m individual (arrived) vs m6 comp and cayenne turbo s
finaly got my new x6m individual in Donington Grey.
Comming from an 2013 Cayenne Turbo S, i had pretty mutch high expectation. And yes the x6m is worth every penny. I had to admit that i orderd pretty mutch full house, expect night Vision and the upgraded Audio System (Dealer thought it is not worth the extra Money, an do not car about Sound system). The engine is mutch more alive than the 550hp from the Cayenne Turbo S. Gear Change are faster and smother, ride quality in my view really better than the Cayenne and despite the x6m is the bigger car he fells more nimble in corners than the Cayenne. The Cayenne had no roll at all in the corners, but this felt sometimes to stiff and unnatural, the x6m has maybe i little bit more movement but fells like a big gokart and turns in extremyl well I am running 0.5cm spacers at the front and 2.0cm at the back, Winterwheels on the 21" orignal rims. Breaks are phanomal, and the shocking thing is, the x6m breaks better than the m6 with ceramic breaks based on test mags. x6m 200-0kmh in 134meters vers m6 200-0kmh in over 140 meters.. Now in short compaired to my m6 comp, with ceramik Brakes. the m6 is a 2013 year car so basicly 2,5 years different between the x6m and the m6. But the differant ist quit big. the X6m engine sounds better, and is more alive then the m6 engine. The so called Turbo lag is even smaller in the x6m. Cant explaine what they did, but there is defentilty some Evolution going on. The x6m has also far more safety Systems on board and the nav Systems more gageds... Right now i feel the x6m can do every thing a little bit better then the m6, and the allwheel drive is just a massiv benefit of the x6m. They layout is perfect you still can drift, but acceleration out of corners is just sweet.. I do hope the next Generation of the m6 is coming with allwheel drive as weel.. Right now i wonder if a gonna keep the m6, because the x6m is just the more perfect daily driver than the m6. In January my 991 gt3rs will arrive and shortly after the 675lt, so i might let go the m6. few pics, (sorry iPhone and night) |

it is the Yokohama W.drive in 325/30/21 at the rear
But cant tell you if they are good or not in snow. I think given the wide of the tyre, driving in snow needs a bit more careful than with the oem winter tyres in 285.. |

Never found the new Cayenne Turbo engaging. I actually find driving my 2003 BMW 4.4i more engaging than the Cayenne despite the body roll. I like some body roll in my vehicles because it's easier to judge grip levels in corners.
The new X5 M / X6 M has meatier steering feel compared to the light steering of the Cayenne. It rides better due to stiffer and better platform than the outdated VW Touareg platform in which the Cayenne is based on. ZF transmission is better than the Cayenne's Aisin transmission that Lexus uses. Yes, Cayenne uses the same transmission in some Lexus. No wonder it's slow to shift and jerky in corners. The navigation and tech is also outdated in the Cayenne. It's smaller and less practical than the X5 with more blind spots, especially with the small rear window. Who would buy Cayenne other than the Porsche badge? I'm glad you bought a real Porsche like the GT3 RS. Cayenne for me is just a tuned up Toaureg. |

Hello m-ch,
How did you get the Alcantara steering wheel? Did you manage to order it like that or you had to order the wheel separately and install it later? If I am not mistaking, this is not a standard option. Regards from Zurich |
