Llumar Paint Protection Help

What's up ya'll. Been stalking these posts for a few weeks since i got my first BMW - decided to splurge on an ///M. One trip to Spartanburg M School and the rest is history. Glad to be here - you guys are going to cost me a lot of money with some of the cool stuff that's on here...

The reason I'm posting is because I'm curious if anyone else has had issues with their paint protection film on the mirrors??? I had Llumar installed by a top notch place (full hood, full fenders, grill, mirrors, headlights, and rocker panels). Everything is flawless except the mirrors. These pics are after the second time i had them do it - and they gave ample time for it to dry before letting me drive off. Funny - this is turning out way worse than the first time...Thanks!

Definitely *not* normal. Something is either wrong with the product (less likely since it's widely used) or the application procedure your shop is using. I've had Xpel Ultimate on my last 3 cars (including on my current X5M) and have *never* had one issue with the application on the mirror caps.

The adhesive failed, you need to get them wrapped again.

Bump for Xpel. Best I've ever dealt with.

How much roughly for the whole car installed with Xpel? I have seen the name pop up everywhere lately. Maybe I should get it done on my next ride...

I had the Xpel Ultimate full-frontal pacakge applied here in the Seattle area by Northwest Auto Salon. Total cost of package, including rocker panels and wheel flares / arches: $1895.00.

As I mentioned above, I've had Xpel Ultimate on my last 3 vehicles - can't recommend it enough. Lifetime warranty alone is more than enough reason to recommend. On top of that though, the quality of the product is phenomenal. The product meshes well with the entire car, can't be seen without *close* inspection (by people who know what they are looking for), and holds a shine like the unprotected areas such that the protected parts can be detailed for a complete shine.

TY, sir! DG was my (extremely close) second choice - absolutely love the color on the X5 / X6.

Not that I feel like giving a plug at this moment in time ... Instead for informational purposes - the Llumar was the exact same cost w same warranties. Not that anyone would be rushing out the door to get it done after seeing those pics. But I will also say the rest of the car looks aaaaammmmaaaazing. My biggest issue was finding the "right" place to install it. In Baltimore area - car customization is not the thing to do. Strangely this place is a very accomplished tinting and graphics company. I still can't believe the mirrors went so wrong. Unsure who to blame at this point.

If they're halfway decent, they should know how to wrap mirrors without that total failure that shows up in the pics. If it's the adhesive then I'd definitely worry about the rest of the car. That sucks...

To me, it looks like the installer over-stretched the product to try to wrap areas of the mirror, and then was left with too much material in one locale, hence the ripples overlapping one another at the edges. My installer for XPel ultimate commented that the mirrors on the X5 M did pose a challenge to him. It took figuring out which areas to fix the material, and which areas to stretch towards. My guess is your installer hasn't figured out which side to fix the edges at, and which edges to stretch towards, and end installation at.

Also possible. As anyone knows who's ever wrapped anything, it offers many challenges. I was able to do some trim pieces and they turned out well, but mirrors I'd never be able to pull off. And if they're a tricky design, then they would be even tougher. I think all of the panels, otherwise, would be fairly straightforward, so maybe it was an installer issue.
