Great looking ride. What time are you planning. In the middle of deciding which tune but majority of the tuners are not local

Looks amazing, bro. Did you spray any wheel protectant to make the brake dust wash away easier? There are a lot of detail with these wheels, where brake dust love to hide.

I've had wheels like this in the past and they really are tough to clean. These days however, with a wheel coating and spray on iron detergents, it's much easier. Chuck in a high pressure washer and you can easily keep them looking perfect with a 10 minute investment every Saturday morning.

What sort of wheel coating have you had success with? I'm running the stock OEM wheels right now (both 20" winters and 21" summers), and they're pretty easy to hand wash. But I've had custom wheels in the past (Klassen M52Rs) that were just a bear to keep clean. Since I do my own washing any help is appreciated.

Also, any recs on spray on iron detergents? Are they safe with the OEM finishes? Aftermarket wheel finishes?

Thanks

The M50d 599M wheels were coated with this; https://www.carcareproducts.com.au/p...protection_kit

The X5M 612M wheels will get the same.

Then use something like this for regular cleaning; https://www.carcareproducts.com.au/p...gyeon/q2m_iron

Definitely like the idea. These rims glisten when freshly cleaned but lose that blue hue after just a touch of break dust. However - for my uneducated self - can you confirm that our rims fall under the ''most" category ...."Gyeon Rim is suitable for most rim types including clear coated (like most factory wheels), anodized, powder coated and even painted. Some guys have even used it on Polished Lips with good success which appears to reduce the frequency of re-polishing."

I imagine it will work on all mainstream wheels from BMW.

I do too, but I imagine on many custom sets it wouldn't (like my old Klassens). They couldn't even handle standard tire gel, which I'd have to wipe off if any got on there. A very finicky finish. Had to just use standard car wash soap and water. But I imagine the OEM wheels would be fine.

But frankly, the OEM wheels are pretty easy to hand clean regardless. I washed them the other day and it was a cakewalk. Plus I'm skeptical that any "touch free" solution would get all dirt and dust off - but has anyone used a product that is literally spray on, and wash off, and the wheels are clean?
