HELP! Which exhaust tips are these?
I am thinking on of getting into an F10 M5.
And i am debating whether to get the "ULTIMATE PACKAGE" which basically gives you all the packages (Premium, Full Leather, B&O Sound & Competition). So I checked out a local dealer and I noticed the 2 M5/M6s that had the Ultimate Package (which includes the comp package) had much nicer/bigger tips that really fit the rear of the M5 nicely. However, I have seen other F10 M5s with comp package and they just have the same smaller tips, just painted black. Edit: So after doing some research, I think this is the M performance Titanium exhaust..however, why would some 2016s with comp package have it, while others don't? Last pic (on the silver M6) is the stock exhaust that most M5/M6 have TIA

While this is also a 2016 M5 with the Ultimate Package, and it has the skinnier exhaust tips just painted black...
Hope someone can make sense of this for me..

Hey SlammedR8,
The skinny silver tips - if on an M5 / M6 are usually the factory exhaust. The skinny black tips usually signify the Competition Exhaust and then, if the dealer swaps out the exhaust for the Akrapovic of BMW Performance exhaust, you'll see those Titanium or Carbon Fiber tips. Note - the Akra / BMW M-Performance Exhaust is usually $8K+ (US$). |

Thanks for the reply! I did a little more digging and everything you said makes sense! However, I am starting to think that the ultimate package simply includes this Titanium BMW M performance exhaust because I did a search on autotrader.ca And all 16 M5s with the ultimate package seem to have this exhaust/tips which means it's part of the package since the MSRP is around $130k which lines up with the Ultimate Package being $25k.

Makes sense - If I'm not mistaken, that exhaust is put on in Halifax (was out there on business - in the port) and saw them upgrading M3/M4's and M5's/M6's. Basically, removing or should I say cutting exhaust and putting on a performance muffler. The M5's / M6's had complete exhausts changed over. Nice exhaust if you can negotiate a little off the car lessening the $$ pain.

Theres a $5k credit from BMW, + $1000 for going to the Auto Show. So thats $6k from BMW and I think I can manage at least another $5k from the dealer. $5k isn't even 5% discount, so maybe more?
As for the exhaust, it looks like it is basically the Akrapovic with different tips?
