Need Wheel and Tire Expert help
If I can swing this and fitment works I have JNoSol to thank for giving me the idea – he posted a pic of his F10 M5 running his F85 winter setup and gave me the idea to do the opposite. I still have my Modulare B18s from my F10 M5 which I traded in for my GTS – I was going to list them for sale once the weather got better but if I could keep them and run them as my winter set that would be ideal.
Can anyone help me with fitment and the proper tire? I spoke with Peter Lee at Wheel Experts, and although he has not done it, the math seems to work. JNoSol also mentioned keeping rolling diameter the same and said the following should work, 265/40/20 front and 305/35/20 rear OR 265/45/20 front and 305/40/20 rear. What are people here running for winter tire sizes, does anyone not stagger the fitment? The specs for the B18s are as follows – 20x9 et27 and 20x10.5et30 Most importantly, will they look too small?

If the rolling diameter is the same as your stock set up, you should be fine.
275/315 are my stock x5 sizes and they were fine in snow. One thing you might want to check out is the load rating of the wheels you have. Since they're made for the F10, even if forged, they might have a load rating of ~1600lbs. Many SUV wheels have higher load ratings of 2000lbs+ |

So is the load rating on yours 2000 lbs? I'm assuming you bought them specifically for the SUV?

Remember that the X5 has the larger 74.1mm center bore. M5 has 72.6mm.
