I Drive screen with "no signal"
Dear all
I have been having problems with my my I Drive (NBT 2014 MY). It started with a very light flicker of the nav screen. Then finally the screen went blank and I received a "No Signal" message. After a few seconds it rebooted. Went to my dealer: sent the info to Münich / they had never seen this. Checked everything and even replaced the nav screen. And this week: again the same issue... Has anyone had this before ? Any advice ? Thank you in advance. |

I had it last week. First no signal and a couple of seconds later no radio and it rebooted, it went back fine. Never seen it before.
Perhaps they hot patched the software from Munchen that needed a restart of the system.

Had the exact same problem last night (MY2014). Was listening to Spotify and pressed the phone button on my steering wheel to make a call but nothing showed up. The screen flickered a few times and went dark showing the "no signal" message. System rebooted itself after a few seconds. Hasn't happened since. Will try to get an answer from my CA sometime today.

Update
Took the car to the dealer which started to work on it this morning.
He called to say that the ASD was disconnected and it could potentially have an impact: he needed to reconnect it to reinstall the software. Told him that the issue happened even -before- I had the ASD disconnected and it should have no influence. Then asked him to make sure he disconnected it again (prefer without over the last 15000 miles). So I will see tomorrow evening what they find. And if one of you hears from his CA: appreciated ! |

M5ZRH,
Short time lurker, first time poster - Following your progress as I am experiencing the "No Signal" and reboot on a weekly basis in my 2014 F10 LCI. I have had to the dealer twice now. First was a software update which trashed my coding. This did not improve the issue. Next is a drop off tonight for a replacement of what they called the HUH?? Assuming the head unit? Can you share how you made out? Thanks! Ted |

Sorry for the delayed response.
The HUH was replaced and it occurred again. My dealer said he checked again and there was no error diagnosed therefore hard to check further. When asking at HQ it seems that cell phone or other electromagnetic interference could be the trigger. I noticed twice when I received the "no signal" message that I was driving in the same place in town. Therefore very hard to say what causes all this. Also to note that I have a bmw advanced car eye dashcam installed but they confirmed this could no be the cause. Sorry if there seems to be no rationale reason for this problem. |
