VCG Replaced With New Issues

So I've replaced my VCG and valvetronic motor gasket and now my engine is smoking from the passenger side near the back of the motor and I'm getting three codes (see attached) along with a misfire in cylinder 5. Please help

The smoking is telling me you pinched the gasket on the pass side rear when you reinstalled the valve cover. You could take a look with a mirror, but odds are you're pulling it apart again. I imagine you'll find clues to the other two errors when you're in there... ;-)

Sorry about that man. Tech at the dealer who changed mine under warranty did the same thing if it's any comfort to you...

Yep, pinched gasket or you forgot to check for warpage of the rocker cover. If the plastic rocker cover has deformed over time, it will never seal properly either - happens more often than you think.

Did you use a genuine gasket?

The errors are most likely due to the air leak in the same area

I agree, pinched gasket or something. The VC is a pain to tighten correctly.

It needs to be done a little at time and systematically to evenly apply pressure. If you tightened one side all the way and not the other, that is likely the issue.

Appreciate everyone's replies. As an update, we pulled it all apart the next day and the problem was the little tiny hole that sticks out of the PCV cover on top of the valve cover was plugged up. We're talking it's a pin size hole and we had broken the little cover that goes over it off the day before and it somehow got plugged up. I did use all genuine gaskets, no reason not to but I can say it had originally not rolled under but after taking it all apart the second time, we had to pull the cover off three times because that gasket would not stay in. Finally used some gasket glue in key areas and went in like a charm. Saved $1000 and I'm happy. Prob selling the car this fall but it's a good selling point to add to the rest of the maintenance I've done in the 4+ years I've owned the car.
