2013 Rebuilt - Thoughts??

https://www.ebay.com/itm/2013-BMW-M5...E/133009124420

I'd love to get your thoughts on purchasing this vehicle. Low mileage, but rebuilt title after front end accident. The seller has extraordinary feedback and has a great reputation.

I'd obviously drive the car before purchasing and I feel like the main concerns for rebuilt cars include:
- OEM parts used?
- frame damage?
- can an extended warranty be added? (seller says yes)
- resale value (I keep my cars until they blow up, so I'm not too concerned here)

Anything I'm missing? Your thoughts or experiences are appreciated.

Just for your info on the M5 there is a alloy front sub frame that holds the engine, suspension etc that can be unbolted and replaced with a fresh one in one that's had a fair whack.
Because of the nature of these cars there are quite a few that have been in accidents and to find one that has been accident free would be almost unusual.

Having looked at a couple of M5s with rebuilt or branded titles during my search last year, here's my take.

Downsides are how the rebuilt status will sit with your insurance company and whomever you talk to about an extended warranty. if there are no penalties on either of those points, then it comes down to the car itself, how it looks and how it drives. Hows the steering? Is the paint a perfect match where the repairs were done? Was it repaired with new OEM parts or salvage? The fact that there are pre-repair photos and the seller seems reputable are obvious advantages.

That said, I think the price is in line for a car with maybe double the miles and a clean title. So you have to establish how important those miles are vs. whatever might possibly be lurking under that beautiful paint. Personally, I wouldn't pay a premium for 25k miles vs. 50k. But that's a totally personal choice for you.

You should have a PPI done regardless of the warranty the builder is including. It's human nature to focus on the repairs in a case like this and maybe miss something elsewhere on the car.

Push every button, turn every switch, and don't baby it when you take a test drive. Test it like you plan to drive it.

In the end, if you feel something exciting when you look at the car, buy it

At that price you are better off buying this car

I believe the price is a bit high for the accident history.

That's an easy repair even the bonnet and wing are intact, a nice repair project for someone.
