M Logo on the caliper faded away

Anyone had that problem? Drivers side looks ok but passenger side logo looks like someone erased it. Still visible but really dull

Car is still on the warranty. Any chance this can be covered?

Having the same issue on mine. Haven’t had a chance to go to the dealer to try it yet but read on the f80 forums some of the members had it replaced. They mentioned something about “caliper delamination” to their service advisors and it was covered.

I have the exact same problem. Been to two dealers and both refused replacement citing "outside influence" even after explaining that I only use ph neutral wheel cleaner...

how long you had your car? Mine is about 1 years old and still look exact the same so far but with some wear from sand and rock chips. the paint and logo still look the same.

Bought it CPO in January of this year. It’s a 2016 MY. From what I’ve seen, this issue seems to be more prevalent with the earlier (2015, 2016) F85 X5Ms.

Same with mine. Dealership also claimed 'outside influence.' I also only use top shelf pH neutral wheels cleaners. A quick an easy solution is a high temp vinyl sticker. They make them in the same size as the original logo. I purchased mine off eBay for super cheap. I've had them on for about 3 months and they look really good. If I have to replace 2x a year it's still stupid cheap and makes the logo look brand new. See pic for reference.

Just like the newer toothbrushes that have the blue wear away to halfway down the bristle to let you know to get a new toothbrush...

...the M logo on the brakes wears down to let you know to get a new M vehicle.

If you want OEM quality I recommend these! The previous link is not lined up properly and the M doesn't sit right.

You should ask the dealer if the tech spray brake clean or other chemical to clean the brake dust or fluid after brake service?
Or if you get your car washed from them, ask them what chemical used to clean the wheel.
The dealer should be held responsible if they use some harsh chemical that caused the discoloration of the precious ///M logo.
Those are what can be categorized as "internal influence".
