USB C Port Retrofit

Hey,

As USB C is becoming more common.

Has anyone looked at the ability to replace our USB A ports with USB C?

Also a way to upgrade the USB Hub to output more power.

Not sure if they might be interchangeable with the part numbers in the newer BMW's.

Not sure what your intentions are, as far as the functions you are trying to do. I haven't looked into changing out the in-car USB ports for data transfer. But if you are just wanting more power for fast charging, I use this which pushes all the way in and sits flush, so it just appears as if it's a flat panel in the cubby by the cup holders. It provides 30W Power Delivery (PD 3.0) from the USB-C port. And a regular USB-A port which provides QC 3.0, and convenient to have still for older electronics. I know it's not exactly what you are asking about, but a good cheap alternative for the interim that still looks clean. All metal too

Either that or get a USB-A to USB-C adapter pigtail - works well for me.

Use this same thing. Was a game changer for me, no more "maintaining" battery and actually charging it with significant speed.

If you have NBT EVO the USB amperage can be turned up.

BMW has not produced USB-C outlets afaik as USB-A are the universal standard....for now. Just use an A to C cord to your device.
