Any environmental planners out there?

Been trying to get a job as one since graduating but they all want years of experience. Anyone currently doing this? How do you like it? This job market is crap.

What exactly does an environmental planner do? My major is Environmental And Occupational Health..anything from air, water testing to Ergonomic assessment to food inspector to housing inspection and I've never heard of an environmental planner..assuming it's even related to the field I'm in at all.

I guess the title planner would work equally as well. Or urban planner or city planner. Some jobs I've applied for say city planner, some say urban, some say environmental. The essential job function is the same though.
