Help Unlocking 1st Gen Iphone...

i am going to purchase 1st gen iphone but have a question. i see the dev team unlock for 2.0 but i check apple and they have a new firmware 2.02. so if i upgrade this 1st gen iphone im buying to 2.02 is there an unlock for that b/c i can't find it and im not sure if the dev team solution works on all prevous firmware before 2.0 cause it states only 1.43 and 2.0. help please. thanks.

i would avoid unlocking it at 2.0 and up. There are quite a few people who've had their WIFI stop working altogether. Mine doesnt work anymore

if wifi fails doesn't really bother me, it is however a beta version for windows...

it is final and i am getting a 1st gen iphone. one question is that do i need to have an active att sim in there to run the jailbreak/unlock program or can i do it with the iphone simless?

No....I've unlocked 3 different iphones so far, all without problem and without an ATT sim card and they all function properly. However, I did it with my Mac...I don't know about problems with the windows version but the Mac version worked without a hitch

edit: You don't even need a sim in there to unlock it on the Mac version

hi there, i used zIphone to unlock my 1st Gen iPhone, and i've been using 1.1.4 firmware, the reason I want to get rid of my phone is that I am tired of unlocking and keeping up with the new release. Also I believe a lot of people are still using 1.1.4 because it is more stable...

the phone i bought has 2.0.2 already and i looked for downgrade methods and came out short...
