Leaky coolant...

Have been smelling coolant from vent in the cabin for a while. Eventually found it under the engine cover

This is a very common issue on our cars.

However if you're even somewhat mechanically able, there's an easy DIY fix. I'll try to find the thread that shows exactly what you need to order and how to fix it for cheap.

Pretty standard for the F10 M5 unfortunately.

I've recently replaced the coolant hoses/clamps/jackets on mine too.

Like on mine it was the third one to the right, just replace the one that's leaking pointless doing the others if their tight and not leaking after checking them removing the silver covers and use new fuel injection clamps to secure.Worm drive ones cut into the hose.

yep, the whole process takes about half an hour. My mechanic ended up buying new foil wraps to wrap the rubber hoses himself instead of putting on OEM foil heat shield. The reason he said was OEM heat shield is kinda loose and heat may mess up rubber hoses from gaps in the future. I’ll post pics later.
