Help PSI readout in iDrive

Hey guys,

I’m attempting to code in the PSI readout on my iDrive using bimmercode. I had Carly and couldn’t even get the mirror function to work, moved to BimmerCode and has been working great. I still cannot get the psi to show next to the tires on the iDrive and am wondering if I’m doing something wrong or need a certain TPMS? If so which ones?

I have a 2015 M4. The ones currently installed are brand new sold to me by the tire installer tires plus (pretty reputable). I unfortunately have no clue of the brand. Would a re registration of the TPMS to the car do the trick?

Thanks for the help in advance!

Strange indeed...I coded several features, including TPMS pressure and temperature readout using Carly on my 2015 M3. If you have the correct sensors, you should get a pressure readout by default.

Yeah for sure, I've done everything as instructed even contacted Carly. Now I'm working on contacting BimmerCode. I'm having a hard time understanding why the iDrive wont even have a blank psi readout even if the tpms isn't working. It should at least code the feature, shouldn't it?

It should, and it's worked for me on muliple cars. Are there any outstanding updates to iDrive software for your car? There's a way you can check for that using your car's VIN. That's all I can think of. Were you able to code any other features?

The mirror folding on lock and unlock worked. The iDrive warning on start up worked, but I just noticed that the reverse camera warning code out did not. The iDrive may be out of date, and needs an update. I know the maps are way off lol.

I checked for info on software updates online, but all I could find in the way of do-it-yourself was for smartphone compatibility. There is a complete iDrive update available, but it's $249 according to the link I found (BMW software update 2020) and It may need to be done at a dealership.

just a follow up, bimmercode, also bimmertech concluded that my 2015 m4 just doesnt have the hardware to display psi on the iDrive. Very confusing seeing that other 2015 m4 owners have made it work. I guess im just out of luck on this one.

Don’t know if it matters but my 2015 M3 shows it after coding.
Run your VIN and see what your Mfg date is.
Maybe you have a really early build. For reference, mine was produced 2014-07-23

my manufacture date is 3/2015, I don't know why they would say my car isn't equipped to display it...super frustrating lol

My manufacture date is 3/2015...This just makes no sense to me. I'm starting to just give up on it.

Ours are M3’s. Yours is an M4. Only thing that sticks out atm.

Hopefully others with M4’s with early builds can chime in. If not, maybe it is your TPMS sensors or it wasn’t coded correctly to show PSI.

Yeah, hopefully a coding guru gets a hold of this thread! LOL what throws me off is if it was the TPMS then why wouldn't the coding still show up but with blank readings?... my only other option i think would be getting BMW TPMS sensors and re coding them to the car. not sure what else to try

So i just did an auto x event where i was deflating my tires to about 28-29psi cold for better traction and i happened to look at the idrive system to see if it read any errors and it still showed green as if the pressures were ok. Does anyone know or think this may be the issue that my car is just stuck not detecting the signal from the TPMS?

Also, why wouldnt it give me an error that there is no signal?

Can you swap wheels with someone to see if their TPMS registers correctly?

Could be worth a shot, i dont know many f8x owners other than a guy with a GTS that is practically new and hasn't driven it in 3months to keep it low mileage lol. Might be worth a trip to bmw to have it checked out i guess just to make sure its thoroughly looked over.
