Where have you all been buying your black boot badges? I’ve seen them on eBay for about a tenner and other ones for several times that much.

How did you judge the gap between the lettering?

The trick is getting one where the 3 colour insignia doesn't discolour after time and taking the old badge off leaves an imprint which even after cleaning with ip alcohol you can easily line up with the replacement. Use a fishing line or your fingernails to take the old badge off.

I've had a look on eBay, it's tenner inc postage for non genuine and fifty for a genuine one.

I've bought of ebay before and the badge is never the same, so if anybody knows of were to get the black boot badge post away

From BMW, but they are about £48. The majority of ebay ones come with the ///M part and 5 part two different heights!!! and the shape normally isn't quite right.

Also the light blue of the tri-colour flag turns brown after a year or so.
Be better of coating the original chrome one in black plasticote.
