If you could afford a 335i, would you buy one instead?

I think I know what the answer is, but I put up this little poll to see if the rumors over on e90 are true.

I think most enthusiasts will say no... same engine, less weight... what more do you want? Styling? I think they both look good. =)

What's the rumor? I didn't see anything from e90post..

I've been thinking about this a lot. About 30 to 40 percent of the time I think I should get it. I just keep going back to added value. I guess I just don't see enough added value to justify paying the difference.

Nope, the 135 is smaller, faster and more performance oriented.

No, the 1 series is a real 3 series, and the 3 series is not.

If you test drove a 335, you would NOT have bought a mini...

I do like the styling marginally better on the 3-series (exterior, not interior), but that is the only advantage IMO. Besides, the 1 will fit better in my garage...

that's pretty much where i end up when i spend the time thinking about it... with the options i want it really isn't worth it given the cheaper (better?) alternative.

I liked the 335i when it first came out, and never gave a thought to the 328...but I like the styling of the 1 better...Along with the smaller size/weight, same engines, etc. I think I'd stick with the 128 even if I had the $$ to go for 135/335... It's a matter of how it just suits the needs of what I'm looking for right now:thumbup:

I don't know. I will have to see, sit in, and drive the 135i before I make any decisions.

I can afford the 335i if I wanted one. In fact, I was researching the 335i when I came across an article about the 135i and that was how I became interested in it.

I doubt it. All else equal (basically) I prefer a smaller, sportier package. I prefer the more upright stance of the 1, similar to the E46 coupe. Can't get 6 piston Brembos on a 335i either AFAIK.:iono:

I wouldn't be on this site if I want a 335i because I have the financial means for one and I don't have to wait as long.

Now if the 135i really weights 3700lbs then I am buying a 335i. I am going to call bmw NA and have them verify it ASAP.

I could afford one, heh. I was cross shopping 335i with G37, and decided to wait for the 1 series.
