Brake fluid service and inspection
Recently had brake fluid power flush and it's yearly inspection and carried out well at Vines in Redhill with the ever helpful Dean, service advisor there.
I then swapped all the brake pads out at home with a F/R TRW set I have been storing for a few years. The rears were getting close to the sensor limit so they were done first reusing the still good brake sensor wire and rewinding the park brake motors to cope with the new pads. The fronts were half worn but I still changed them out as they were the very black dusty textars which i couldn't wait to throw out and the TRW's while bedding for a couple hundred miles in are less dusty as the new pads groove into the discs. These pads are OE spec and a good alternative to the textars and if you're doing yours don't forget to punch out the crud out of the cooling holes in the discs going through to the inside disc especially if they were textars and obviously to clean out the insides of the front callipers with a plastic spatula and brake cleaner. The more time you spend on it the happier you'll be at the result with the way the new brakes feel. I noticed some M stamped suspension arms that have 'TRW' stamped on them also so a good sign there.
