Steering wheel / blind spot monitoring

Good afternoon. I’ve got a 2013 F10 M5. Had it for a few months now. I am sure this steering wheel is aftermarket. I believe perhaps the steering wheel is why my blind spot monitoring isn’t working. As soon as I engage the bsm it gives me an error. Also I’d like paddle shifter extenders but can’t figure out which ones I need. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

That’s definitely aftermarket. Paddle shifter support is definitely limited for pre-lci steering wheels.

Also, is that a hood/trunk badge on it?

I don’t think this looks bad tbh, just needs that badge replaced.

Here’s mine, lci aftermarket wheel with pedal haus paddles and pedals.

That looks good. Gonna check them out. Could this wheel have anything to do with the bsm not functioning?

I doubt it, it’s probably the outside sensors.

Perhaps you're referring to lane departure warning that is driven by the motor mounted inside the the stearing wheel?
