What part is this?

Changed the spark plugs today and noticed that there is some oily residue from this - looks like oil feeder pipe but not sure. Would be good to stop before it all gets caked in gunge….

That's the positive crankcase ventilation valve (known as PCV valve). Simple to change, a couple of small bolts on the other end, and not that expensive from BMW, about £40something each I think. They are known to fail and weep a bit of oil, and can be the cause of excessive oil consumption sometimes. It would be a good idea to replace them.

Amazing thanks, I’ll be changing that asap. Probably both sides but this is the worst out of the two.
