09 135i Blow Off Valve
I just bought a new 2009 135i with the BMW Performance Exhaust (got a great deal from the deal and couldn't resist). I wanted to see what people thought about me putting on BOV, and what kind I should get. I've been looking around and HKS has a pretty nasty sounding BOV. Thoughts?? Opinions?? Thanks,

sure its an 09?
my opinion is that these cars dont benifit from bov's and that it is a little cheesy to put on on. I do think they sound neat though. Theres a lot of info here to search on the topic. |

I doubt you have an 09 bc from what i know they dont go to production till September but it may be possible a few have been made already and are at the dealership idk im ordering mine in Dec..
And BOV's dont affect the engine at all.. Youd be amazed ALOT of 1ers have BOV's. I Love Riss Racing and they just made this new Diverter for the 135: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14896 Heres a few urls you can find more on BOV's and info http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...&highlight=BOV http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...&highlight=BOV http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...&highlight=BOV http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...&highlight=BOV Hope that helps! Go for Riss Racing everything they got is Awesome! =)

The HKS BOV has different inserts that you can put in to change the sound. The standard fin insert give you a very high pitched sound (HKS engineers call it the birdy sound). I perfer the purple fin above all of them.
Besides some of the OEM BOV's out there, HKS is the only one that use a diaphragm type valve which is the quickest reacting, and tightest sealing. Synapse has their own unique design which is a piston type, supposedly just as good or better than the diaphragm type. The Tial, Apexi, Greddy, Blitz, Riss Racing, all use a spring type valve. |

Mmm from what I heard, the 09's don't start landing on the shores until Nov... September is the last production month for the 08's and then they take a 1 month break from production for the holidays in Germany and then they start producing again.
I've heard this from several dealers, but I may be wrong

First of all ours is built onto a hard pipe that is is built for OUR diverter valves. Yours fits to OEM fittings and uses the OEM piping. Just because you make a diveter valve, and clip it on to OEM piping. Doesn't mean another company can't make an improved design. With hard piping and different diveter valves. This is not copying its called competition. If nobody improved designes. There would be one tune on the market. Did Dinan copy Vishnu/BMS/AA/Helix? How many intercoolers are there? How many intakes? Sorry you are no longer the only company making DVs for the car.....Sorry you are threatened by our design. Thanks for the compliment of jumping into our threads to point that out :headbang: Facts..... You have DVs on OEM piping. Your expensive. $335 for just DVs???? YOU ALSO DID NOT MAKE THESE FOR THE N54. You simply took one of your audi DV kits and realized it fit on the N54. We have DVs relocated to fit aftermarket intakes. We have hard piping to aid the DVs with higher boost. We have T bolt clamps to keep the pipe from failing. We have all of this for around the same price. We used nothing but high grade material to build all this product as we do with all of our products. Thanks! |

cp-e is making a beautiful Tial kit for the 135. It's slightly different from their 335 kit here: http://www.cp-e.com/2044.html

Yes gents, my car is waiting for the boat to ship it to my dealer! I can't wait! Should be here Oct 10ish. I think I should be one of the first 2009 135i's in the country. I'll be sure to post pictures when she gets here. I do have a question though. Does anyone know what the new Navi looks like for the 09? I know the 08 had the pop up, but since they changed from the DVD based to the Hard Drive based Navi I don't know what it's going to look like. Any incite would be helpful. Thanks!

I would never get a BOV on the car unless you were upgrading the turbos and running insane amount of boost. Frommy understanding it can actually go against adding performance and possibly hurt the engine( not sure if true) when not needed which it is not with stock or close to stock set up.
