Manual vs Steptronic transmission ratios

Greetings

I've been trying to find out whether the 135i Steptronic has the same gearbox ratios as the manual.

The brochure only lists the transmission ratios for the manual box and Googling hasn't helped either.

The steptronic gives the impression of being quite a bit stronger on initial take-off, particularly when not launching the manual aggressively; I was wondering if this could be as a result of the 1st gear ratios being different?

Thanks! This solves my mystery. I guess the brochure I have is different from yours; perhaps because it's from a different market.

i really hope i like the manual tranny...all i drove before ordering was the autos for an auto tranny is reacts very well. im kinda nervous having not driven the 6speed but i figure i will love it...i was asking the salesmen(like they would know haha) how it feels and if its a strong tranny...i was trying to see getrag made it or if its made by BMW...i just hope it engages well and holds great...im sure it does...anyone with experience that drove both the auto and manual....im very used to my 6speed close ratio and short shifter so it would have been nice to compare

Mine is an auto, but I drove a fair distance in manual this morning (in another 1addict's car) and my initial test drives were all in manuals.

I doubt that you'll be disappointed: It is a beautifully slick manual gearbox; one of the finest I've enjoyed. For a car with so much torque, I was also astounded at how easy it was to drive gently. Although driving it hard is much more fun. *grin*
