Congrats on your new car! Cant go wrong with black

Have you also made experiences with the N54 so that you can share a personal comparsion of both engines?

Congrats

Little confused here. A 2010 with a N55? Thought that engine was being installed in 2011's.

The last of the 2010's got the N55 first. I have a 2010, but I have an N54 with Jan 2010 production date. I suspect cars built in Feb or March got the N55 first. Sometime in March is when the 2011 production run started with N55's.

Last month when I was ordering some parts at my dealer... I noticed on the parts CD that when you plug in 2010 e82 135's it gives you both engine choices N54 or N55.

Btw... first off nice car! I noticed on your close up wheel shot, it looks like you have a rubber valve stem. ? Do UK cars get TPMS (tire pressure monitor system) ??? On cars that have TPMS the valve stem is metal and the shaft is silver in color. Not black like yours. ??? Thanks.

Why is BMW trying to make it *seem* like it's a twin turbo when it's not?

Pretty sure it's a 2010 because it was registered first in 2010. If you look at his plate, the 3rd and 4th numbers are the age identifier. The 10 is March of 2010 through Aug of 2010. Doesn't really go by traditional model year. So if you see something advertised as a say 57 plate, it means it was first registered between Sept. of 2007 and Feb. of 2008.

Somehow my 2 model year 2007s ended up with 56 plates, even though I didn't buy them until April and Oct. of 2007, don't think the VRO new that though, so they went with the first 2007 registration number.

that intake routing to the turbo inlet wheel is such a better design than the N54.

The intake tube from the airbox to the turbo looks huge compared to the n54s twin 2" piping.
