'08 135i with 37K...keeping it. Almost finished modding...luckily the previous owner took very good care of this baby. Next car is M3 or M5 but cannot upgrade until my daughter receives her degree

I've got another year in my car. I'm NOT keeping this one out of warranty. I've had BMWs for the past 12 years and none this new, none with this many issues. I'll keep my 530 my x3 but not the 1. If it were certified yes. My brother keeps going through injectors, coil packs and still not running right in his 335 that just hit 50k.
For me it's just been a hpfp that left me stranded, a bad tpms, a new stereo, a new window motor, a passenger seat heating relay, and a delaminating mirror thusfar along with 2 replacements of the trunk 3rd brakelight. 29k miles...

I'm keeping mine but currently feel wishy washy about it. I'm looking for a MOPAR/Hotrod as a toy and if I find the right one...bye bye. But then I keep looking in the for-sale threads searching for steals to mod with too Mines an 09 as well so once warranty ends, why not mod it to full? So for those of you thinking of selling your mods for lease turn in or whatever, hook me up.

49,xxx and I'm keeping. Have to buy extended warranty REALLY soon. Too many water coolers and other random stuff seems to happen in the 70,000's and up.

Good question and one I am asking myself. I have owned my car for a year now and am having thoughts of keeping it w/out warranty, or just biting the bullet and buy a CPO warranty and keep for a few more years. The only catch for me is the fact I only drive the car for fun and put very few miles on each spring/summer/fall...roughly 5K miles. As of now my 1er has 28K miles, but will be out of warranty in March.
My other dilemma is, what would I replace it with? The only other car I REALLY want is a 95-98 993 Porsche. Othr than that, I would probably just keep the 1er...it's just too damn fun, cool, practical and fast. Not many cars fit this bill.

I was thinking about keeping her but i had my hpfp replaced last week with just 12k miles on the clock. This has made me think about not keeping it since BMW really hasn't sorted out the hpfp dilemma, part of me thinks about getting a 128i for long term. I have 2 years left on my least so I'm not sure though. Still it is a blast to drive!!

Just got my 128 but plan on keeping it for a long while. its the best car Ive ever driven period and Ive driven a lot of cars. plus its a rare manual 6 1er so its has lots of power on tap and a blast to drive!
BTW geico offers a "mechanical breakdown" option on any car insured by them...it covers the car bumper to bumer over and obove manufacter warranty and can be fixed at place of choice including dealer. its cost about $5-$7 a month and deductable is $250...oh and fully transferable...it covers 7 years 100,000 miles, its a no brainer! thats $420 out of pocket for the full 7 years and can be canceled anytime if car is sold... I got the CPO warranty, so I will be keeping mine for a while. But I will be looking for an e30 restoration project in the future.

36k and probably keep it. it's been pretty good to me. I may think of a third party warranty option though. it maybe worth it around the 50-60k marker.

^yep. 993 is so perfect in every way. It was between my 1er or a 95 993 white w/full flamenco red leather interior and I picked the 1er due to my family and practicality...and my wife wasn't too keen on the full red interior. It was pure sex to me though. Oh well, maybe later down the road.
