PPK Goes in Tomorrow
Dropping my car off (2012 135i) for the PPK1 installation tomorrow. Cant wait to see the difference, really looking forward to reducing the bit of lag the car has, and hoping it changes the feel of the car.
Ill update the thread with my thoughts once its done! |

I like it. Very noticeable in the low/mid part of the band. Its not a big improvement but it gives a nice little shot of adrenaline.
I have the steptronic so its gets an additional 15 ft lbs. Cant say if it feels different on a stick car. Looking forward to your opinion. |

Just picked up the car a bit ago...so far I am really happy with the kit. I definitely notice that the lag is gone and there is quite a bit more pull so I am overall really satisfied.
I was lucky to pay 550 for the kit, and to be honest, I dont know if I would pay more than than that for it. Its a nice kick, and the price I got it at is ideal for the increase in hp. Overall, the driving experience is much improved, and I am super happy I did it. |

I'm picking up my new 1er next week and I'm debating whether I should put the Stage 1 PPK in right off the bat. Obviously I wouldn't be able to remark on the difference, but more power is never a bad thing (okay, well, almost never).
I think if my dealer lets me have it cheap with delivery, I'll go that route, but I won't pay full retail for it. I mean it's a SW upload and an hour of tech time. $1000? Not likely. |

Yeah, I thought about that, but I think I can squeeze out a better deal at delivery.

Yeah honestly the PPK isnt worth more than probably $700-800 in my opinion. If you get a good deal like I did (585 out the door with tax) then I would do it, otherwise I personally would not have gone for it.
You wont regret it though it is a great improvement. I drove 3000 miles without the PPK and am glad I did so, in order to see the difference in power. Its definitely noticeable. |

I don't think they make the SSK for the newer years. I read somewhere that they shortened the factory shift throw around 2011, probably with the inception of the N55, and while not quite as short as SSK, it's enough improvement to not offer the SSK anymore.
