BMW AccessPORT v4.00 BETA Maps Now Available

Beta maps for the BMW N54 AccessPORT are now available for download and evaluation. These v4.00 BETA maps were developed to provide smoother response, more power and address the 3k RPM "surge" that some users have been experiencing. In addition, Stage1+FMIC BETA maps have been released for those cars with upgraded intercoolers, but without the necessary exhaust modifications to satisfy Stage2 hardware requirements.

Please note that these are BETA maps and may or may not perform as intended across all vehicles. This BETA release is intended to gather feedback from early adopters and incorporate it into the maps prior to final release. If you are unwilling to experience potential performance inconsistencies or provide constructive feedback on these BETA maps, please continue to use the General Release v3.01 maps until the v4.00 maps are finalized and come out of beta.

Maps are available in the BMW AccessPORT Map Database. Simply click the red BETA Maps button, review the acceptance page, and click the I Accept button to be taken to the BETA v4.00 maps. If you are unfamiliar with the process of downloading maps, transferring them to your AccessPORT and flashing the ECU, please review our Step-by-Step Map Download and Transfer Tutorial.

Stage 1+ Beta review

Ok so a quick review on the Stage 1+ Agressive stock throttle map beta V400.

I just uploaded the Beta maps on my car and to her out for a quick spin 30 mins ago. Air temps were around 65F, oil temps a healthy 210F, and 25k miles on the car.

Intial thoughts is this map is outstanding for a beta stage. No surges or throttle occilations that I occasionally got with the 301 map. Definitley feels smoother. With the 301 I was getting what I felt was mild hesitation and thought I might need new pulgs, but so far it's gone.

Power wise I'd say I picked up maybe an extra 15-20whp. Keep in mind that I just romped on this new map so when I rack up a couple of hundered miles and let the DME adapt I'll give my official review. So far the log looks good I just need to transfer it to a graph from excel.

Good job Cobb.

Awesome, I just got the cobb loaded on the car yesterday and have tried the stage 1 aggressive and sport. Will test out the v4 maps and compare

edit: loaded the v4 sport stage 1. It is definitely much smoother! good work!

So I'm wanting to try this out, however, my AP manager crashed on my macbook pro. Trying to download the new one off the website, but keeps timing out.

Is the link down?

I apologize you are having issues downloading AP manager. This download is hosted on a server that went down a little while ago. The team is working to bring it back up ASAP.

**UPDATE**

We have rehosted APManager at another location and updated APManager links on the website. Please clear your browser cache, refresh and attempt to download. Note that it could take 20-30 seconds for this install of AP Manager to respond after opening. Please let me know if you encounter any links that don't work.

I am sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks,
Jason

EINSER M and Das Ein

We hoped to get the new 1M maps out with this release, we've got a few things to verify first and they will be ready to enter Beta. We are finishing up some testing and hope to have them out soon! Sorry for the delay!

Thanks,
Jason

Thanks

Question on this found on your website:

Quote:
* We have found that the 135i stock catback exhaust system is restrictive compared to other BMW models. To achieve estimated HP and TQ gains as listed in the map notes, an upgraded catback exhaust with less restriction is necessary. Retaining the stock catback exhaust will result in lower than estimated HP and TQ gains, but will not adversely affect the safety and driveability of the tune.
Is "catback" in cobb vernacular defined as a midpipe + axle back, or as just the axle back? Curious if the restriction are the pup cats in the midpipe or the crimped and crushed over-the-axle mess that comes stock.
