2009 135i 1 series questions
Is this a good buy ?
http://www.thriftautosales.com/web/u...ersey/2794178/ I was going to fly down and pick it up this weekend...I plan on having BMW install heated seats, any thoughts on the cost of that? |

I wouldn't do it. A modded 1'er from New Jersey, with over 50k mile on it? Save your money, and save the heart ache. Unless it's Cpo'd I wouldn't touch it. Consider the bad roads it's been on, and salt during winter times. Spend a little more money, get Cpo'd, and make your money back on maintenance cost.

You may want to consider getting a third party warranty. They dont cover wear items such as brake pads, hoses ect. but do cover engine, powertrain and electrical issues. It's not so much this car needs more maintenance as it is the cost of repairs at dealerships. With the mods that this car has would indicate that the owner didnt baby it around for 50,000 miles.

I would pay for a PPI from a local Indy shop, then and only then would I buy this car if all checks out ok. It would also help if you can perform some of the maintenance yourself. Good luck.

I'm a tad late, but this is definitely not a good buy. The listing is wrong, first of all, because its does NOT have the premium pack. It is also missing the climate pack, which you of course know already. So the ONLY thing it has is the sport pack.
That, along with the big miles should be a deal killer. I paid less for mine here in NJ back in December from a BMW dealer. Granted, mine is an '08, but it had 42k miles, sport, premium, and cold weather. You can do better than this car.

I bought mine with 100 miles on it, first owner, and it was in alaska. I just moved to NC and it was trailered from alaska. I now have 34k miles on it and it still books out at 30k.

Im sure that with the DCI and JB it was not driven really easy... Plus BMW wont CPO a car with any mods at all... Not even window tint... And, 55k miles... The tire light is on too... That must be the tire/wheel they didnt show in the photos. So I think I would walk on this one... Looks good though.

I got bored before a carshow and painted them. I actually rock TSW Mondellos now.
