Will an ER Chargepipe (post-June 2009 build) couple / fit with a Helix FMIC?

Quick issue: I have a 2008 N54 and I wanted to get an ER Chargepipe but the post-June 2009 version so that it replaces the bottom "accordion piping" as well.

The ER website specifically says that the post-June 2009 version Chargepipe can be used on the N54 so I'm not worried about that. My question is would there be any fitment issues with an post-June 2009 version ER Chargepipe and a Helix FMIC?

Quick replies appreciated -- I'll be installing everything in a couple of days.

Why dont you just buy the charge pipe for the N54 with this coupling from HP Autowerks. Great replacement for that flimsy stock coupling.

Sorry, sounds like you already purchased the N55 charge pipe so disregard. I dont think you'll have any fitment issues.

If I'm not mistaken, the N54 variant of the Helix Intercooler utilized the existing cool side lower charge pipe. You shouldn't have any direct interaction between the intercooler and the ER Chargepipe as they're separated by that stock pipe.

I could be wrong, but I just talked to Chris from HPA and he told me that the n54 charge pipe and the coupling upgrade were redundant. Are we missing something?

OK...(?) below is the explanation of the difference between '08 and beyond versions. I see you have the same '08 as mine. So, I believe you would need the coupling upgrade to replace the flimsy stock coupling. The '09 version of the N54 might be redundant as seen below. That said, the N55 charge pipe might be long enough to connect directly to the FMIC piping.

I would take a pic but my car is being detailed at the moment so I will post one tonight if you would like.

Ken, I appreciate that. I read the same information on ER's website as well.

In the above diagram, the chargepipe is what is circled in red, correct? That's clearly all that will be replaced with the the ER pre-2009 N54 Chargepipe (without the accordion piping).

My question is what is included with the post-2009 Chargepipe (i.e. the one with the extra accordion style piping)? Does it go as far as to include what is circled in blue? Because if so, then I'll get that and (hopefully) it will mate to my Helix FMIC and I won't have to buy the HPA coupling.

Hopefully that's clear. And again, thanks for the help.

Also I realized I got confused between the N55 and post-June 2009 versions of the chargepipe. I've edited my original post to correct that confusion.

FML, I finally get it. I was so wrong. Ignore my above post. What I circled in blue was not the extra-accordion style piping included with the post-June 2009 chargepipe.

The helix uses the same geometry as stock, so if the charge pipe is made to meet up at stock location and it has a 2.5" coupler it will work!
