^ LOL I see you've migrated here to ask the traction question. I kind of worded it badly in my response to you so to clear up confusion...
His problem is that he can't seem to break traction with his Cobb installed. I told him I know the JB4 has "traction assist" which actually limits boost in first and second gear (and is adjustable) so that you don't go spinning your tires all over the place as too much force is applied to the wheels. I don't have a Cobb AP so I couldn't help, but if anyone with one could chime in that would be awesome. I am actually interested as well since this is one of my favorite JB4 features and I am interested in a Cobb AP myself. Nothing wrong with the JB4, I just like trying different things (wheels, angel eyes, etc). PS - sorry for kinda stalking you x-tian, I just couldn't help noticing your post, and wanted to elaborate in case people were a little confused with what you're asking

Yup, it's called your right foot .. but seriously, I don't believe it has anything like the JB4 in limiting according to gear. The linear throttle maps do an amazing job at smoothing out the power depending on throttle input..
That's the best I got.

Saw your thread on the other page, no, they do not limit boost in the lower gears. I have an MT, so I wish we could set limits like on the JB. At some point they are supposed to release some tool that gives the users some limited control over our tunes. I am really hoping lower gear, configurable boost limits are part of it.

What would be really cool is if COBB could program a map that automatically takes your car into DTC mode without having to hit the button everytime i start the car.

Cobb does not have traction control coded into the software. I'm on Stage II and thank god the 135 has traction control

I asked them a while back and they said is on their list to do but obviously is not a priority right now.

Automatic or Manual? And does the car's stability control kick in when you get on it? (flashing yellow warning light in center of gauge cluster)

I still don't see why you would want to lose traction anyways. If you are spinning, that means you aren't going anywhere. |

What tires do you have and how much tread do you have left? Next thing I would do is log the car with the AP, post the graph and ask people here who know how to read it and/or send the logs to Cobb themselves to review it.

AT or MT?
...and are you saying you can't break traction coming from a dead stop or are you trying to floor it at low speeds (and in a low gear) and chirp the tires that way?

I agree with the OP. I went from a JB4 to a Cobb. The JB4 could would drive my traction control mad. With the Cobb, i never see my traction control light come on.
The car is fast with the Cobb, im my mind i have decided the reason is because the Cobb power comes on smoother more linear while the JB4 hits hard. |

In a MT car it's pretty easy to break the rears loose, even in 2nd at speed. I think the different gearing and the kick-down in his AT may be attributing to the lack of wheel spin.
