VANOS values

At idle reading values with my COBB the "VANOS in actual" reads 95.6 and the "VANOS in requested" reads 126. The actual value doesnt move when I rev the engine. When I look at the values for the exhaust VANOS they seem to adjust with the revs and requested matches actual. Is this a sign of a bad solenoid? I also hear some really fast chatter when I have the accelerator in just the right position, barely giving it any gas.

could it be because in neutral there's not much load or boost even when you hit the gas? have u tried to see if the values move while driving?

I checked it out while driving and it appears that when I accelerate the requested value will drop and once it drops down to 95 and below the actual will start match the requested. The actual just never goes above 95 but can go below. I guess this is normal.

I know this sounds weird... but I have a friend who works at a Porsche dealer. They had to buy back a 911 for a vanos cam timing engine check light. They had replaced A LOT of stuff on the motor... but it still had a ECL. In the end... they change the engine oil(after they bought back the car) and THAT fixed it! Seemed that the customer had used too thick of an engine oil. I am just telling you this story FIY.
