BMW M5 F10 Takes on CTS-V, E63 AMG PP, Jag XFR in Track Comparo
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com 1st place: BMW M5 F10
2nd place: Cadillac CTS-V Automatic
3rd place: Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG Performance Package
4th place: Jaguar XFR
Sachsenring-tracktimes: 1:37,82 min - Porsche Panamera Turbo S 1:38,16 min - Porsche Panamera Turbo 1:38,66 min - BMW M5 F10 1:40,86 min - Cadillac CTS-V Automatic 1:41,00 min - Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG PP (best is 1:40,6 min) 1:43,75 min - Jaguar XFR Verdict: - The M5 is the clear winner here, fastest in the straightline, fastest on the track. With Launch Control 0-100 kph is in 3,9 s! - The Cadillac made a little sensation beating the E63 AMG PP: great performance, big fun for relatively low costs. - The 3rd place is for the Merc: it's the only one that can get close to the M5 on the straightline. Best 0-100 kph run: from 1800 rpm. - Last place for the relaxed Jaguar. via German Car Forum |

How to be #1 -omit the cars that beat it.
I see the both the Panamera Turbo and Turbo S beat it in lap time and 0-100kmh. E63P was launched at 1800rpm and M5 with launch control - not exactly fair. And the M5 is the only car with the latest tires (PSS). |

Panerama Turbo & Turbo S are MUCH more money. E63P- tell MB to build a better transmission Tires- The other manufacturers send the cars out with those tires, not BMWs fault. Maybe they should put R compounds on all of them to compare? No, these are factory fresh cars and what hits the showroom is what they drive.

I believe that they could get 3.9s to 100kph out of this car. Maybe not every time but I believe that time is possible under the right conditions. It is scary fast. |

About time the rest of the boys got invited to the table. Just too bad the M5 ate off of everybody's plate - as they say: "It's Good To Be the King"

To make it fair, M5 & Porsche should be tested on the same day under same conditions. Also keep in mind, M5 will for sure be quicker on other tracks. .It is NOT a direct competitor to Panamera - M6 Gran Coupe will be direct competitor.

in all honestly, for an american car to make it to 2nd place, passed an AMG car is nothing short of amazing.
But Congrats to the new Boss |

Love how there is always one person claiming the comparo as not fair. My favourite being "x car is lowest trim model". It's not a simple test where the best is taken from company A and compare it to the best of company B, you have to consider cost. Besides, it's not always going to be "fair". The cars are not all released at the same time so you'll have cars being older than others (ex. we have the F10 M5 against the older CTS-V and when the new CTS-V comes out, the M5 will be older).

Wish I could read the article.
I would like to compare it to the AutoCar comparo, where the E63 took home the victory. http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=594332 ^^^ How come this article wasn't front page news? LOL! |
